The TLX will slot below the RLX in Acuras lineup, and get the option of a four- or six-cylinder engine. We first saw the TLX prototype at the Detroit auto show in January. Acura hasnt revealed the exact output. The four will work with an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission; the V6 gets the companys nine-speed auto.

Both engines will be offered with two and four-wheel drive. All versions will get Acuras cutely named P-AWS (Precision All-Wheel Steer) and the V6s will get SH-AWD (Super-Handling All Wheel Drive), which is 25 percent lighter than the last system. An alphabet soup of safety features includes collision mitigation braking system (CMBS), forward collision warning (FCW), lane departure warning (LDW), lane keeping assist system (LKAS), adaptive cruise control (ACC) with low-speed follow and blind spot indicator (BSI).
